How do I use the Library Lookup feature in Zotero?

If you have a reference saved in Zotero but you don’t have a PDF attached to it, you can connect Zotero to your library access to quickly check if MRU Library provides access to the source.

Within Zotero desktop, on Windows navigate to Edit and then Preferences. (Or, if you’re on a Mac, go to Zotero and then Settings.) From there, go to the Advanced panel.

In the OpenURL section, choose Custom from the dropdown menu and then in Resolver paste the following link:

https://librarysearch.mtroyal.ca/openurl/01MTROYAL_INST/01MTROYAL_INST:02MTROYAL_INST

Version can be left at 1.0.

Then, click OK.

Now, you can use the Library Lookup feature within Zotero to check if the MRU Library provides access to the full-text article for a reference.

With the reference selected, click the green arrow beside the All Fields & Tags search box and then click Library Lookup. This will open a new browser window and search for the source in MRU LibrarySearch.

If MRU Library provides access to the source, you will see links under the Access options part of the catalogue record.
