How can I find my course readings or items on reserve?

What are Course Reserves?

They are books, articles, videos, or other materials your instructor has set aside for your class. Some are online; others can be borrowed from the Library’s Service Desk for limited loan periods so that all students in the class can access.

How to find your course readings

  1. Go to the Library homepage.
  2. In the main LibrarySearch box, select the Course Reserves option.
  3. Search by course name, course number, or instructor name.
  4.

Tip: Not sure of the full course name or number? Try typing just the subject code (for example, BIOL or NURS) to see all available course reserves for that subject. You can then filter by course, instructor, or material type on the right-hand side.

Use filters like Course, Instructor, or Material Type on the right-hand side to narrow your results.

Can’t find your readings?

  • Check if your instructor posted them directly in D2L.
  • Make sure you’re using the correct course code (for example, BIOL not Bio).
  • Is it early in the semester? We may still be processing them for reserves - check back in a few days or a week (or ask us).
  • Still stuck? Ask Us — we’re happy to help!

Note: Textbook access is changing rapidly as publishers move toward digital and rental models. Some textbooks can’t be purchased or shared by libraries due to publisher restrictions. Learn more about textbook access, affordability, and your options on the Library’s Textbooks information page.
