What can I do if I want to share more than 10% of a copyright protected work with my students on D2L?

The work may be available in the Library’s online catalogue and subject to a license, which may allow for a greater amount of the work to be uploaded to D2L. In the Library record, the license terms can be found under Access Options.

If the copyright protected work you want to share comes from the internet, section 30.04 of the Copyright Act may apply to your use. Or you can contact the Copyright Advisor (mrucopyright@mtroyal.ca) to assess the use for fairness.

If the copyright protected work is not available in the Library catalogue and a user right does not apply to your use, you can seek permission for the use. Permission can be granted through a direct communication to the copyright owner or publisher or as a transactional license through the Copyright Clearance Center. Your use may be eligible for the Copyright Clearance Fund provided by the MRU Copyright Office. Reach out to the Copyright Advisor (mrucopyright@mtroyal.ca) for more information.
