How do I organize sources using collections and tags in Mendeley?

Creating a new collection in Mendeley Reference Manager is very simple.

Along Reference Manager’s left-hand side, there is a section for collections. To create a new collection, click in to New Collection and start typing the name of your new collection. When you are finished, click enter to create the collection.

You can then drag and drop PDFs from your All References library to your new collection to populate it.

To use tags in Mendeley Reference Manager, select the source that you would like to tag.

In the right-hand side panel where you are able to edit the source’s different fields, there is a Tags field where you can add tags and save them by hitting enter.

You can then filter by tags using the Filters function.
