We know how important it is for students to have access to the Internet and that need is even more apparent while many Mount Royal students participate in alternative course delivery this semester, such as online lectures. We are happy to announce that wireless hotspots are now available for MRU students to borrow from the Library!
Wireless hotspots are handheld devices that act as internet access points and allow users to connect to WiFi with a smartphone, laptop, tablet, or other WiFi-enabled devices. Students interested in borrowing hotspots can submit an online request, similar to laptop loans.
Current MRU students interested in a hotspot can now complete a brief online request form to borrow a wireless hotspot for up to 3 weeks with the possibility of renewing depending on availability. Quantities are limited. Requests will be processed on weekdays and completed on a first-come, first-served basis. Please wait for an email response that will have additional information and specific instructions for contactless pick-up.
- Turn on device
Hold the power button for 3 seconds (top right)
- Get wireless details
Tap on the Wi-Fi Name/Password button to get the name of the wifi network and password
Connect to the hotspot as you would to any wifi network
