Wireless Hotspots

The ability to access the Internet is vital in an online learning environment, and even more important as Mount Royal students participate in alternative course delivery. We are happy to announce that wireless hotspots are now available for MRU students to borrow from the Library!

Wireless hotspots are handheld devices that act as internet access points and allow users to connect to WiFi with a smartphone, laptop, tablet, or other WiFi-enabled devices. Interested students can borrow hotspots through the Library's Equipment Lending page.

Hotspots can be signed out for up to 3 weeks from the Library Service Desk. Renewals must be requested in person at the desk before the hotspot is due. Renewals are never guaranteed, so please be prepared to return the hotspot in the event that someone else has it reserved. Fines/fees will be applied for late returns and damaged or lost items.

  1. Turn on device
Hold the power button for 3 seconds (top right)
  2. Get wireless details
Tap on the Wi-Fi Name/Password button to get the name of the wifi network and password
  3. Connect
Connect to the hotspot as you would to any wifi network
