How can I optimise my OA Fee Finder search (to find waived and discounted publishing opportunities)??

The OA Fee Finder is a tool that helps MRU authors find journals where they qualify for waived or reduced Article Processing Charges (APCs).

Advanced search tips

Note: Advanced searches using wildcards, truncation, and Boolean operators will default to searching within the Journal Name field. To search within other fields (like Imprint or Subjects), specify the field using one of these:

Function Example
(journal name search)

Example

(subject / imprint search)

Description
Wildcard
?
organi?ation subjects: organi?ation

Finds "organization" and "organisation".

Truncation
*
Royal Societ* subjects: chem* Finds terms starting with e.g., "Royal Society", "chemistry", etc.
Phrase Searching "" "art history" subjects: "art history"

Finds exact matches.

Parentheses
()

(colleg* OR university) AND (scien* OR math*) (psychology AND applied) AND imprint: wiley Groups multiple terms or logic for complex searches

Boolean

university OR college OR "higher education"

subjects: (art AND history)

subject: (science NOT biology)

Use AND, OR, NOT to combine or exclude search terms

Note: Use parentheses when combining Boolean operators, especially when specifying a field like subjects: or imprint:.
