Are we able to watch films available through Netflix and other streaming services on campus?

Films available through Netflix and other password-protected online streaming services may not be shown for a non-educational, non-classroom university event without acquiring a license to show the film. Netflix has a selection of documentaries allowed for educational screenings. Please follow the terms indicated on their website.

Films can be purchased or rented through YouTube. However, YouTube’s terms of use for these paid services prohibits any public showing of films that are purchased or rented through them. Thus, permission would be required for showing the paid YouTube versions of a film for a campus event.
