What is the difference between Simple Search and Advanced Search?
Simple Search allows for keyword and phrase searching. To search for a particular phrase, put it inside quotation marks (e.g. “Social Status”). You can also use AND, OR, NOT (e.g., cardinals AND baseball NOT birds).
Advanced Search allows you to focus your search, finding keywords and phrases in specific places in the records that describe library items. For example searching for a term only in the Author or Title or Subject fields. You can also search for very specific titles by choosing “starts with” or “contains exact phrase” to search for items that you know exist.
