How do I narrow down my results in LibrarySearch?

Filtering Search Results (LibrarySearch)

When you run a search in LibrarySearch, you’ll usually see a Tweak my results panel on the right side of the screen. These filters (also called facets) help you narrow down a long list of results.

  • Date: limit to the last 5 years (often required by instructors).
  • Peer-reviewed: check this box to focus on academic journal articles.
  • Resource type: choose books, articles, videos, etc.
  • Subject: narrow to biology, health policy, history, Indigenous health, etc.

Tip: You can select more than one filter at a time (e.g., peer-reviewed + last 5 years). When you apply them, they’ll show under Active filters. Click the padlock icon to “lock” them in so they stay for your next search.
