Q. Can I use Zotero with LibrarySearch?


Yes! LibrarySearch allows you to import article or book records to Zotero.

Zotero is a free and open-source citation management solution to manage bibliographic data and research materials. There are two ways to use Zotero, web-based and desktop based. You may download Zotero on your desktop and follow the instructions to sync your web-based account with your desktop application.

Web-based (Chrome)

Please ensure the Zotero Connector extension is added to your Chrome browser and you create an account with Zotero before attempting these instructions. 

  1. Sign in to LibrarySearch
  2. Conduct your search
  3. Click to open the details of article you would like to save to Zotero
  4. Select the blue book icon in your Chrome toolbar
  5. The citation will automatically save to your Zotero library

Desktop Application

Please download Zotero prior to attempting the following instructions.

  1. Sign in to LibrarySearch
  2. Conduct your search and click the small pin icon (keep this item) to add a result to your 'favorites' list
  3. You can view your entire list of 'favorites' by clicking on the large pin icon in the upper right of the screen
  4. Select the items you would like to import to Zotero (you can select all at once if you'd like!)
  5. Click on the ellipsis (...) to see the "push to actions"
  6. Click Export RIS and then select the download button
  7. A file called 'Primo_RIS_Export will be downloaded, when you click on this file to open it you will automatically be prompted to save it as a new collection to your Zotero library
