What are the fines on overdue items?


It is the borrower's responsibility to note the date and time materials are due. There are no overdue fines for our Main Collection. Fines are charged for overdue material for recalls, equipment, interlibrary loans, reserves, and all lost material.

Reserves, cables, chargers, adapters $2 per hour/item, to a maximum of $50/item
Material on loan from another institution (Interlibrary Loan) $2 per day/item, to a maximum of $50/item
Laptops $10 per day/item, to a maximum of $180/item
Laptop power adapters and mice $2 per day/item, to a maximum of $50/item
All other equipment $5 per day/item, to a maximum of $50/item
Laptop damage fines Laptops Keyboard: $125
Case: $125
Palmrest/trackpad: $250
Screen: $500
Lost material replacement fee All MRU library owned material Replacement cost set by MRU library on item by item basis
Material on loan from another institution (Interlibrary Loan) Replacement cost, processing fees, and whether these fees are refundable if material is recovered are determined by the lending institution.
Lost material processing fee All library materials $5 per item (non-refundable)
Service fee for ILL material not picked up by patron Material on loan from another institution (Interlibrary Loan) $5 per item
